DinnerSorted ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Michael Asaad. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If you have questions, email us at michaelasaad16@gmail.com.
Account data. When you create an account we collect your email address. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Content you create. Recipes, meal plans, categories, and any other content you save in the app are stored on our servers so you can access them across devices.
Profile information. Optionally, a display name and profile photo.
Recipe import data. When you import a recipe via URL, Instagram share, or photo, the URL, text caption, or image is sent to our servers and to Anthropic's Claude API to extract recipe information. We do not store the raw import payload after extraction is complete.
Subscription data. When you subscribe, your purchase is processed by Apple. We receive subscription status information (active, expired, entitlements) via RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymised analytics about how the app is used (screens visited, features used). This data does not include recipe content or personal information. To opt out, email us at michaelasaad16@gmail.com.
Device permissions. The app requests access to your camera, photo library, microphone, and speech recognition. This data is processed on-device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly import a photo as a recipe.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
Your account data and recipes are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Import payloads (URLs, captions, images) are not retained after recipe extraction is complete.
Anonymised analytics data is retained for up to 24 months.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account from within the app (Account → Delete Account). For any other requests, email michaelasaad16@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the UK or EEA you have additional rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
DinnerSorted is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
